Google quiere hacer frente al desarrollo de Alexa Answers de Amazon
La startup en cuestión se llama Superpod. Se trata de una plataforma que permite lanzar una pregunta y obtener respuestas de manera rápida gracias a los conocimientos compartidos por los expertos en distintos temas que se han registrado en ella.
Los creadores habían cerrado el servicio de Superpod -que había obtenido financiación del cofundador de Quora- en septiembre del año pasado, anunciando que pasaban a formar parte de un “nuevo proyecto” de mayor envergadura del que no podían ofrecer más detalles en ese momento.
Ahora se sabe que Google adquiere la plataforma.
Básicamente lo que quiere Google es el capital humano pero, sobre todo, la tecnología desarrollada por los fundadores de Superpod con el objetivo de incrementar la precisión con la que funciona Google Assistant, el asistente virtual de la compañía.

Al tratarse de una plataforma de autoaprendizaje, el asistente va acumulando los conocimientos vertidos por los expertos y los adapta a las necesidades de los usuarios cuando realicen cualquier tipo de pregunta.
Los contenidos van desde conocimientos de cultura general hasta otro tipo de cuestiones más complicadas, con un alto grado de especialización.
Curiosamente, Pinterest adquirió hace unos meses una pequeña compañía llamada Jelly -creada por uno de los confundadores de Twitter- que desarrolló un software similar.
Además, Amazon presentó el pasado mes de diciembre un sistema similar para su asistente virtual Alexa.
Alexa Answers está disponible, de momento, sólo por invitación, aunque se trata de un interesante servicio que, en la actualidad, cuenta con respuestas para más de 100.000 preguntas.
